Telemarketing calls sometimes can be very annoying for some people. In most cases this telemarketing calls are legal because this is a business running for years.

However, even though it is a legal business it doesn’t mean that telemarketing companies have all the right to disturb telephone consumers.

  • All telemarketing companies are not allowed to make a call before 8 am in the morning and after 9 pm. This rule was created to avoid consumer’s disturbance around this hours which they should be sleeping soundly at their home.

 

  • Telemarketers should give any identification to the person or household they are calling. They should give the name of the person’s calling and the company name. This is a must for all telemarketing company even if the consumer is not asking for it.

 

  • Telemarketers can only record their solicitation if the consumers have given them permission to do so. Not permitted record of phone solicitation is considered to be telemarketing phone callingillegal. Consumers should know this to protect their privacy against this telemarketing companies. You can always file a legal action if this rule is violated by the company.

 

  • Presentation of clear and define policies should always be provided by the telemarketing companies when the consumer suddenly ask for it. Policies should be presented to avoid miscommunication and misleading information to the part of the consumer.

 

  • All telemarketing companies should have an internal do not call list. These are list of name of different consumers who doesn’t want to receive a call from them anymore. If the consumers want their name to be added on this list the company should comply.

There are a lot of different rules that telemarketing companies should follow if they want their business to still run smoothly.

Failing to comply on these rules could mean a very serious offense if the consumer decides to actually file a case against the company. Since, most telemarketers don’t want to risk their businesses with a lawsuit, some of them are very careful in not violating this rules.
